Daniel
Daniel Rüb is a seasoned performer and healthcare clown with RED NOSES Austria since 2012. Born and raised in Bietigheim-Bissingen near Stuttgart, Germany, Daniel has performed on various stages across Europe, including prestigious venues such as Theater an der Wien in Vienna and Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels. In Linz, he has worked with institutions like Landestheater, u\hof:, and Theater Phönix, and has also taken on directing roles at Bühne 04 Linz and Kulturhof:Sommer Villach.
His artistic roots are grounded in classical acting, having trained at the Anton Bruckner University in Linz. It was there that he first discovered clowning—an art form that immediately captured his imagination. A passionate enthusiast of physical comedy and Commedia dell’arte, Daniel’s very first professional role as Arlecchino sparked a lifelong love for improvisation and playful performance.
Daniel joined the Emergency Smile International team in 2014 through the training programme and completed his first mission in 2016 in Thessaloniki, Greece.
He also took part in an inclusive theatre project during Linz’s tenure as European Capital of Culture in 2009, collaborating with MALARIA/Gallneukirchen and Back to Back Theatre from Melbourne—an experience that deeply inspired his humanitarian path.
Daniel is grateful to be part of RED NOSES, where he can merge his love for art with meaningful work, surrounded by like-minded individuals who share a spirit of compassion and joy.
